RBI Assistant – Reverse Bank of India Office Assistant Exam

Summary

The Reserve Bank of India is the central bank of the country. A job in RBI is one of the most sought-after jobs in the country. Everyone who is aspiring to be a banker in future wants to become an employee of the central bank of India, i.e. the RBI.RBI Assistant is considered as one of the most prestigious exams organized yearly on a National Level for the recruitment process of Assistants post in different branches of RBI across India.
The detailed notification will be published with RBI Assistant exam date, tentative vacancy, apply online dates, eligibility criteria, and result announcement date.
The online application for RBI Assistant recruitment 2019 will start at https://opportunities.rbi.org.in.
Last year a total of 623 vacancies was released for the post of RBI Assistant.
Candidates for RBI assistant post are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in mains & Language Proficiency Test.
As per the recruitments held previously, the selection is done through online examinations that will be followed by a language proficiency test in one’s local/official language:
1. Online Preliminary Examination (Objective Test)
2. Online Mains Examination (Objective Test)
3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)


Eligibility

I. Nationality: To appear for RBI Office Assistant Examination 2019, a candidate must be either: —
a) a citizen of India, or
b) a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
c) a Tibetan refugee who is permanently settled in India prior to January 1, 1962, or
d) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from either Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of residing permanently in India.
Please note that candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), and (d) should possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
II. Age:
Minimum Age is 20 Years and Maximum is 28 years.
However, RBI has given some age relaxation for the students applying for the post of Assistant in different categories which are stated below:

III. Educational Qualifications:Aspirants can check educational criteria below:
1. Graduate from University/ Institution/Board recognized by the Government of India.(At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.)
2.A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.
3.Candidates applying for post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.
4.Knowledge of word processing on Personal Computer (PC).

Exam Pattern

RBI Assistant Selection Procedure is an initial approach to get involved with each stage of exam for the respective job profile. The Selection process involves the following phases –
Prelims: This phase is of qualifying in nature. Marks of this phase isn’t considered for the final selection.
Mains: Marks obtained in this phase will be considered for the final selection. Hence, just clearing the cut off is not enough, scoring good marks is essential to ensure your selection.
Language Proficiency Test: The final selection will be based on the performance in mains & language proficiency test. This test will be conducted in the local language of the concerned state. Candidates found inefficient in the local language would be disqualified.

RBI Assistant Exam Pattern for Main:

Language Proficiency Test (LPT): The candidates provisionally selected from the main on-line examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned (Annex-IV). Candidate not proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified.
i) The above main online tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
ii) Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests of the online examinations
iii) A candidate has to qualify in Preliminary Examination for appearing in Main Examination.
iv) There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests (Preliminary and Main examination).1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
v) Other detailed information regarding the examination will be given in an Information Handout, which will be made available for the candidates to download along with the call letter for examination from the RBI’s website.
vi) Roll No. of the candidates successful in preliminary online examination will be made available on RBI’s website in December 2017. The Roll No. of candidates successful in main online examination will be available on RBI’s website and a brief notice thereof will be published on the Bank’s website in January 2018/ February 2018.
vii) Only such number of candidates will be called for Language Proficiency Test who stand sufficiently high in merit on the aggregate marks of the Objective Tests, such merit being decided by the Bank in relation to the number of notified vacancies to be filled in.
viii) Final selection will be on the basis of candidate’s performance in the online main examination, biometric verification and Language Proficiency Test taken together in order of merit.
ix) Appointment of selected candidate will be subject his/her being declared medically fit as per the rules of the Bank.

Application Form

TheRegistration link for RBI Assistant application form will be activated after the release of the RBI Assistant recruitment notification on the official website. Candidates who are eligible and are willing to participate should go through the step-by-step procedure to apply online for RBI Assistant exam:

1.Go to the official website or follow the link: http://ibps.sifyitest.com/rbiastoct17/
2.At the Top click “Click here for New Registration” link.
3.Enter your valid details as mentioned in your professional documents.
4.Check the details carefully and click on the “submit” button.
5.You will be shared a Registration Number on your Email ID & Mobile number.
6.Upload scanned photograph and signature.
7.Fill other details like exam centres, address detail, educational qualification & work experience etc.
8.Click on the “Submit” button and start fees payment.
9.The final step is to download the copy of the application form.
Print it out for future reference.
The application fee should be paid through credit/debit card or using net banking.

Admit Card

The aspirants who will successfully submit their application form will be eligible to download the RBI Assistant 2019 admit card from the official website before the examination date. The admit card is issued for all three phases of the exam. To download the admit card candidates are required to enter the following details:
Roll Number/Registration No.
Password/Date of Birth.

Now click on the vacancies option.
Now, you will find the link of admit card.
Click on that link & enter the credentials such as registration number & password.
Enter captcha & click on the submit button.
