About NIBM Pune

National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) was established in 1969 by the Reserve Bank of India, in consultation with the Government of India, as an autonomous apex institution for research, training, education and consultancy in bank management. Its mandate is to play a proactive role of “think-tank” of the banking system. NIBM is part of the grand vision of giving a new direction to the banking industry in India and making the industry a more cost-effective instrument for national development. Therefore, helping the managers in their endeavor to make their organizations competitive both in domestic and international markets is the mission of the Institute. NIBM, an autonomous academic institution, is governed by a Board, its highest policy-making body. The Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (the central bank of the country), is the Chairman of the Governing Board.

Admission Process and Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission to the PGDM (B&FS) of NIBM should appear for CAT/ MAT / CMAT .Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT / MAT / CMAT  scores will be called for Writing Ability Test and Interview during in selected centers. Short listed applicants may have to take additional written test if required at the later stage.IIMs or any other Institutions will have no role either in selection process or in the conduct of the programme.The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions



The student community is culturally diverse and they together form a very vibrant group who engage themselves in various extra-curricular activities to enable them to attain meaningful goals besides their studies.  Students have organized cultural events during Teacher’s Day, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri and Christmas.  There are very active student committees for academics, sports, computer, newsletter, alumni, mess and for placement matters.  Annual sports events such s badminton and tennis tournaments are held where students complete individually and in teams.  These activities not only sharpen organizing skills among student fraternity, but also contribute to their personality development.
